I had a blast riding through Cades Cove on the Slingshot and think it was a fare price. We rented for 6 hours and it was a little to long for us. So beware of you have back issues the seats aren't super comfy. Make sure to wear your helmet!! He told us, but it's not on the paper work you sign!! Only place in the area that still rents slingshots, but they also rent UTVs for a great price and great deals. Super accommodating and welcoming, gave us great advice from best trails to take, roads to adventure and even best gas stations to stop at. Do not rent from this place!! Soon as we arrived to pick up the 4 bikes we had reserved we were told that broke down bike on trailer was one we had reserved. They were able to get us a different bike. While putting our things in bike noticed they had a quart of oil in the back. (That’s never a good sign) As we pull out I notice bike only had half a tank of fuel. So delayed the entire group to stop and fill up bike. At that time only driving a few miles we ALL noticed bikes making abnormal noises and not driving as should. We regret not returning them at that point. We continued our trip to only make it 30min in the mountains and bike started making loud noises, grinding, smoking. No where to pull over, luckily we were going down hill and was able to coast down the mountain to a spot to pull over. The entire clutch fell off bike. (That don’t just happen, bike was not repaired correctly.) No cell service, so if we would have been by ourselves we would have been stuck. One of the bikes traveled back to cell service to let them know we were broke down. We sat and waited over an hour for them to bring another bike. At this point we did not feel safe driving these poorly maintained bikes down a mountain and asked if we could bring them back. They said absolutely and they would make things right with refunds. We returned the bikes and maintenance guy said yea this happens regularly we can’t keep the bikes together. What??? I just had my kids on this going down a mountain! They were supposed to reach out to us the next day and never did, when we reached out to them they refused to give any credit back for returning the bikes early as they said they would. Ended up paying full price for all 4 bikes even the one that broke down. We sat on the side of the road with a broke down bike the entire time we were gone. Very poor customer service. These bikes are very poorly maintained, management was no help and refused to let us speak to owner. This place needs to be shut down before they get someone hurt. When we left the parking lot, one bike only had half a tank of gas. We had to take extra time in the beginning to wait and fill that bike up. We all proceeded to go into the mountains and after about an hour into leaving the rental place that bike broke down. One bike had to go back into cell service while the other 3 waited for them to return. This took about another hour to hour and half. The company brought us a new bike and told us we could extend our trip will 10 pm if we wanted too. That would have been ok if we didn’t have small children with us but we told them we would rather just bring the bikes back since this was already 2.5 hours into our trip. We only had about 2 hours till it got dark. They told us they would work with us on the cost and we could speak about it the next day. Looking back, we should have hashed out what was expected before we brought the bikes back, thinking they would work with us. The next day we had to call them to discuss the situation even though they said someone would reach out. On the phone we were told they would only refund us the one bike but we asked to be refunded more since not all the bikes used the 4 hours we rented. I would have been okay paying for 2 hours for 3 bikes. The situation got heated on the phone and we asked to speak to the owner. They never would allow us to talk to the owner, only the manager. After a few days, I called back because I didn’t even see a credit for the one bike. I was told that because my husband had words with the manager and declined there offer they would no longer credit the one bike. I again asked to speak to the owner just to discuss what happened and was told no. I believe the manager was Red. He said the owner didn’t want to be “bothered” or didn’t have the time with this discrepancy. Basically I wasn’t worth talking too. Let’s just say we will never be using them again to rent from or calling the booking company that arranged it with us. They told me on the phone they felt bad we went through all this and agreed how I felt. But told something different to Red. Funny since they specifically called me saying they did not want me thinking poorly of them like Wrangers and Razors. Missy and the gentleman with her this morning went above and beyond for us. They were so knowledgeable, helpful with routes, and incredibly understanding. When a torrential downpour hit, Missy even called us to let us know to stay put rather and safe than rushing back since we would’ve been a little over our rental time. That kind of care really shows how much they value their customers. She also called us first thing in the morning to give us the option of switching to enclosed side-by-sides because of the storms—truly exceptional service.
