Frequently Asked Questions
Smoky Mountain Adventure FAQ’s
How old do I need to be to drive a UTV?
All drivers must be at least 21 years old.
Are the UTVs enclosed?
During the colder months — generally November through March, and possibly one to two weeks into April at our discretion — we add soft side enclosures to the UTVs.
The side enclosures can be rolled up to provide more airflow and an open-air experience. All UTVs have a front windshield and roof.
Please dress warmly during the colder months. The enclosures are not airtight, and there is an open area around the rear of the vehicle. Certain UTVs are equipped with a dedicated heater.
What do I need to bring on the day of my rental?
Please bring:
• A valid driver’s license
• A copy or photo of your personal vehicle insurance
• The credit or debit card used to make your reservation
Your personal vehicle insurance is used as the primary insurance coverage. Please contact your insurance provider before your rental to confirm that you have appropriate coverage for the UTV you are renting.
Are the UTVs automatic?
Yes. All of our UTVs have automatic transmissions.
Do the UTVs have speakers?
Yes. Our UTVs are equipped with Bluetooth speaker bars, so you can connect your phone and enjoy your music during your ride.
Are helmets required?

Helmets are required for Slingshot rentals.
Can children and pets ride in the UTV?
Yes. Children and pets are welcome.
Children: Children must be either old enough or tall enough to sit safely in a seat without a child safety restraint system. Car seats and booster seats are not permitted.
Pets: Pets are allowed. Please use your discretion and secure or harness your pet appropriately.
Customers are responsible for any damage caused by their pets, including chewing, scratching, soiling, or other damage to the vehicle.
We recommend bringing a towel or blanket to place on the seat for your pet.

Are there restrictions on when I can ride?
Yes. Please be aware that certain roads and areas, including roads in and around the National Park, may have specific operating hours or restrictions, including dusk-to-daylight restrictions.
These restrictions are outside of our control and may affect the amount of time or locations available for your rental.
Please plan your rental accordingly and make sure you are aware of all applicable road, city, state, and National Park regulations before starting your ride.
We cannot provide credits or refunds because a customer did not have enough time to complete their planned ride due to applicable road or area restrictions.
What happens if I return the UTV muddy?
If the UTV is returned muddy as a result of off-roading or other improper use, a $300 cleaning fee may be charged.
What happens if I return the UTV late?
If you think you are going to be late, please call us as soon as possible. We will do our best to work with you based on vehicle availability.
Extensions are charged at our standard rental rate and must be approved by us.
If your late return affects another customer’s scheduled rental, an additional fee may be charged to compensate for the lost rental time.

Do I need to refill the gas before returning the UTV?
Yes. The UTV must be refilled with premium gas before it is returned.
How does insurance work if there is damage, an injury, or an accident?
Your personal auto insurance is the primary insurance coverage for the rental.
Because coverage varies by insurance provider and policy, we strongly recommend contacting your insurance company before your rental to confirm that your policy provides appropriate coverage for the UTV you are renting.
Our secondary insurance may provide limited or no coverage depending on the circumstances.
You will also be required to sign our release of liability and waiver before your rental.
If the UTV is damaged during your rental, the appropriate amount may be charged while the insurance claim or reimbursement process is being handled.
Please operate the UTV safely and follow all applicable laws, regulations, and rental requirements.
Will my personal car insurance cover damage to the UTV, property, or people?
Insurance policies vary by provider and individual policy.
Please contact your insurance company before your rental to confirm that your coverage is sufficient for the type of UTV you are renting, including potential damage, injury, or property damage.
You are responsible for operating the UTV safely and according to all applicable laws and rental requirements.

A card authorization or hold is not necessarily a charge. Your card will only be charged when applicable, such as in the event of damage or another charge for which you are responsible.
